What about becoming a Horticultural Technician?

The Career Foundation, in partnership with Humber College, is offering an exciting opportunity for youth between the ages of 18 and 29 to complete Level 1 Apprenticeship Training and gain paid work experience in their trade of choice. Training also includes pre-employment workshops and access to safety equipment and trade gear.

Training Eligibility

18 to 29 years old
High school diploma or equivalent required
Participants must commit to full-time hours for the duration of the program
G license is an asset or commitment to obtaining it as soon as possible
Horticultural Technician Program Details

Training begins on February 1, 2016 and runs until September 16, 2016, and includes the following:
Pre-employment training at The Career Foundation's workshop space in Mississauga (4 Robert Speck Pkwy, Mississauga, ON)
A paid work placement with an employer
Exposure to arboriculture as a secondary trade at Humber College
Level 1 Apprenticeship Training at Humber College
20 available spaces
No cost for training; safety equipment and basic tools supplied
