Preschool Speech and Language Services

Welcome to our Program!

We provide services to children with suspected or identified communication difficulties, together with their families.

Communication difficulties may include:

  • Speech Production errors (i.e. difficulty making sounds, pronounciation)

  • Stuttering

  • Social Communication Difficulties

  • Difficulties with Understanding of language

  • Difficulties with Expression/using language

All preschool children across Ontario are eligible to receive FREE speech and language services from birth to the beginning of their kindergarten year.  LAMP is a community partner with TPSLS (Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services ). 
 

Our Team

Our Speech and Language team at LAMP consists of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDA) and a part-time secretary. All of these people work together to provide the best services for our clients.
Our partnersahip with TPSLS allows us to access a variety of specialty services across Toronto. Other professionals, including resource teachers, Early Childhood Educators and Behaviour Therapists, may also be involved in providing services to our clients. 
 

When are we open?

We offer services Monday to Friday, all year round.  We aim to be flexible in providing a variety of appointment times to suit the needs of our families. 
 

Do we offer services in other languages?

Unfortunately, at this time, we only offer services to our clients in English.  We can, however, get interpreters to provide an assessment and offer some parent coaching to help you get started.  You may find some additional information regarding developmental milestones in a language other than English, here.

If a parent speaks English, our SLP can complete an assessment based on parent report,  It is not necessary for your child to speak Englisth. 

How can I make a Referral?
We accept referrals from everyone, especially parents and caregivers.  You do not need a doctor's referral.  Simply call our secretary at 416-252-6471 ext.485.
